“Every child deserves a champion; an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best they can possibly be.” — Rita Pierson
Relationships are at the core of everything we do at City Poly. We work hard together and play hard together. Both of these things require a foundation of trust and community. City Poly staff shares themselves with our students and set the environment for students to share about themselves. Hearing about our students’ experiences better prepare us to meet their social, emotional, and academic needs. Our social-emotional supports and community-building initiatives are embedded in the understanding that in order to be emotionally safe and in order to take intellectual risks, the learning environment has to see, acknowledge and use our individual and collective lived experiences.
